REGION OF FOINIKOUNTA

Mavrovouni The big sandy beach on the west side of Foinikounta, is considered as one of the most beautiful in Messinia. It is organised at some points, with beach bars and water sport facilities. There are also camping facilities by the sea. A seatrac installation has been placed, which guarantees autonomous access to the sea to people with disabilities and reduced mobility.
Koumpares A relatively quiet, sandy beach, west of Mavrovouni.

Loutsa and Kantouni. Small, family-friendly sandy beaches, east of Foinikounta. On Kantouni Beach, up on the rocks of the coast, you will see a cylinder-shaped observatory, from where the castle of Koroni is visible. It must have been part of an organised system of observatories-watchtowers, through with the castles of Koroni and Methoni communicated.
