The Yalova lagoon is home to more than 250 species in its brackish waters, with 81 species listed as threatened in Europe and 4 threatened worldwide.
The Yalova lagoon is also home to the rare African chameleon, whose arrival at the area remains a mystery. Yet, the chameleon will be a feat to see, as it is perfectly camouflaged.
