On the occasion of the European Music Day (21/6), the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) organizes a special musical event on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 (21:00), at the Museum of Olive and Greek Olive Oil, in Sparta.
The renowned performers Michalis and Pantelis Kalogerakis, together with the musicians Lambros Papanikolaou (double bass) and Alexis Stenakis (clarinet), present a musical evening based on the poetry of the olive tree, full of lyricism, emotion and romance, under the light of the full moon of June.
By combining poems set to music by contemporary Greek poets interspersed with melodic excerpts from the Odyssey, the artists will illuminate the mythological aspect of the olive tree, the customs and traditions based on the processes of cultivation and harvesting and will highlight the age-old and endless relationship of Hellenism with the olive tree.
Duration: 90 '
The entrance is free for the public.
