With a rich schedule of performances, for nearly ten days until October 20, the public of our city will be able to enjoy puppet theater performances, and more, with both Greek and international participants (England, Poland, Spain, Germany). For the 8th consecutive year, the Kalamata International Puppet Theater Festival is making its mark on the cultural scene of the Messinian capital, offering both children and adults the chance to "travel" through stories featuring puppets, to experience joy, reflection, awareness, education, and entertainment. In addition to the performances, two workshops will also take place: one on the construction and animation of Karagiozis figures and another on handmade marionettes.
A key element of this year's Festival is the dynamic development of collaborations with festivals and institutions, such as the International Puppet Theater and Mime Festival of the Municipality of Kilkis and the Puppet Theater Workshop and Museum "Mairivi" in Athens. The Festival's presence has also expanded with events and activities in seven additional cities in the Peloponnese, achieved with the support of the Regional Association of Municipalities of the Peloponnese and in collaboration with the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation.
